Better Business Governance APAC Pte Ltd (BBG) and its partner, the Privacy and Access Council of Canada (PACC), are proud to present a series of fireside chat sessions and workshops with prominent professionals from the industry and academia to discuss, deliberate, and deliver their views on timely and significant topics related to Privacy and Security.
In the first of its series, BBG and PACC are proud to present a fireside chat between two highly respected and prominent members of the Data Protection profession to explore Privacy and Security as we knew it in the Past and where are we heading in the Future.
SPEAKERS
Sharon Polsky MAPP is President of the Privacy and Access Council of Canada; a Privacy by Design Ambassador; a member of the Standards Council of Canada’s Advisory Committee on the GDPR; a member and former executive member of the Canadian Bar Association, Alberta Privacy and Access Law Section; and former vice-president of the Rocky Mountain Civil Liberties Association; and she holds Canada’s most senior professional privacy designation, Master Access and Privacy Professional (MAPP). Sharon has more than 25 years’ experience advising corporations, governments, Senate and legislative committees about implications and unintended consequences of emerging laws, technologies, and global trends in privacy, data governance, information security, cyber liability, and civil liberties, and she is frequently invited by local and national media to comment on those issues.
Azhar Azib is the Founder and Principal Consultant at rawonion Decisions. He specialises in helping companies transform into smart, data driven organisations. His last corporate role was as Regional Marketing Communications Director for Asia Pacific at Microsoft. Today, his work spans all areas that come into contact with data, including Enterprise Information Architecture, Information Management and Governance, Data Driven Customer Strategy, Practice Reengineering, Business Analytics, and compliance with Data Protection Legislation.
AGENDA
The fireside chat speakers will be introduced by event moderator, Sanjeev Gathani MAPP, who is the Founder and CEO of BBG and PACC’s representative in Singapore, followed by a 20-minute presentation by each of the speakers, and then a 40-minute Question and Answer session between the participants and speakers, before a final wrap-up by each of the speakers.
